VisitorVille Intelligence Search Analytics
Andrew Hitchcock's findings were in line with more formal statistics gathered by visitor analytics vendor VisitorVille Intelligence. According to the Shepherdstown, a W.V.-based company, a little over 66 percent of Microsoft users turn to Google for Internet search. Only 19.6 percent use MSN. And about 10.2 percent went to Yahoo for their searching.

Streaming feeds of search term data
SEMPO and online competitive intelligence firm Hitwise, New York, will start streaming a feed of search term data on the SEMPO site. On SEMPO.org, Hitwise will start streaming the top 10, branded U.S. search terms across 20 online industries rotated weekly. Hitwise’s “Search Intelligence” data represent the search behavior of 10 million U.S. Internet users across the top engines.

Colorado-based company sues Yahoo and three others
Yahoo representatives did not return an e-mail seeking comment. A Sparks Network representative said the company does not comment on litigation. A call to HDVE was not returned, and Insight Direct could not be reached for comment. The lawsuit claims that Yahoo and the others inserted metatags containing the words "lovecity" and variations on that name as keywords into Google's AdWords paid search advertising system.

Google wants to better accomodate mobile phones and PDAs
Google is reorganising the way it presents search results on the internet to conform better with mobiles, according to Deep Nishar, the company’s director of wireless products. It is also testing dozens of new search-related products to be used solely on mobile phones and other pocket-sized wireless devices. “You only have to look at the global trends for mobile use and PC use to see where our business is going,” said Mr Nishar.
