Google's controversial book copying project rages on
Google's book scanning debate, which has been raging in various forms for the last two years,
is driven in part by the tremendous sense of what's at stake. Book search projects like the
one undertaken by Google have huge potential to transform public access to books and archival
material, especially now that Google has broadened its program to include French-language texts
and texts from India.

More on Google's Skype acquisition rumor
With several million users online at any given time, Skype is the largest of a sizable wave
of VoIP companies utilizing the Internet to send free or inexpensive phone calls, usually over
international borders. However, will a merger or an acquisition involving Skype and Google ever
happen? Asked to comment on the rumor, Skype said it doesn't comment on rumors!
