Apple's board appoints Google's CEO as new director
Before joining Sun in 1983, he was a member of the research staff at the Computer Science Lab at
Xerox Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), and held positions at Bell Laboratories and ZiLOG.
Eric has a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Princeton University, and
a master's and Ph.D. in computer science from the University of California-Berkeley.

Flickr adds geo search functionality to its search engine
Flickr users can now search for photos by location in the Explore area. Set the map to a location
(world down to street level) and type in a search query. Markers will appear on the map with photos
that contain that query in the tags or description of the photo.

Google: TV and the Internet are complementary to each other
"There is a huge amount of user empowerment," Marissa Mayer said. "Like I said earlier, I
think we are seeing something that is very much the equivalent of the printing press in our
day and age." But she said that did not mean the end of traditional storytelling and
information-sharing through television. Mayer said that Google actually sees the two media
as complementary to each other.

Google's new click to call advertising system
As part of their deal, eBay and Google will build a click to call advertising
system that will use both Skype and the much-smaller Google Talk. Ads on Google
and products listed on eBay will have a click-to-call link that will allow users
to have a conversation with the advertiser or product seller.
